Pop-up store Merge brings German brands to Belgium

The pop-up store Merge brings German designers to Antwerp. The store concept and brands were chosen by art director and brand consultant Justina Honsel. One of the participants is the Frankfurt brand Miomartha, which is particularly well-known for its slow fashion approach.

Miomartha announced on Monday that Merge is focusing on interior design, lifestyle articles and fashion from Germany in a shop area measuring more than 80 square meters. The temporary shop is “an ode to creative synergies and friendships between European cities,” says Honsel. It is important to her to create “a meeting point for creative people from Germany and Belgium as well as for designers and artists from different cultures”.

In addition to parts from over twenty different fashion collections from various brands, including Hien Le, Johanna Gauder, A Pinchof Salt and Avenir Berlin, music plays an especially important role in the pop-up store. Customers can also purchase a selection of records and music magazines on site. Several events, including those with design studio Eberhard Objects and the French electronic record label Nowadays Records, are intended to underscore the store’s concept.

The store is located at Volkstraat 2, very close to the reopened Royal Museum of Fine Arts and is open until December 24th.
