Amsterdam – The Dutch approach to the cocaine trade is at risk because the Surinamese police are in a deplorable state. “We are heading for a national security crisis,” said Mielando Atompai, chairman of the Surinamese Police Union. Jan Struijs, chairman of the Dutch Police Association, is also very concerned: “Organized crime is given free rein.”
