Policeman who embezzles 600,000 euros will be brought to justice
The investigation has been completed and contains sufficient elements to prosecute the person in his fifties.
In April last year it came to light that the financial responsible, a man from Roeselare, put more than 600,000 euros from the police zone into his own pocket in fifteen years. In the meantime, they were able to recover a quarter of the amount with the sale of his house. The case will go to court in February.
The man was also financially responsible at the Midwest assistance zone and at the Wielsbeke municipality, but no cases have been established there.
