Police unions take action in Oudenburg: “dissatisfied with wage agreement that has fallen off”
The police unions are dissatisfied with the abandonment of the negotiated wage agreement a few months ago. The unions demand a better wage agreement and better pension scheme.
Further actions
Lachaert’s previous statements about the union actions are not very constructive and strengthen our conviction to take further actions.
In November, Egbert Lachaert – after the death of a police officer in Schaerbeek during an intervention – posted a Tweet in which he spoke of a “personal smear” against Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne and asked to keep it “civilized”. The reason was the call from the police unions to the Minister of Justice to step aside.
After the shock, emotions are understandable. This week’s facts need to be clarified. Did someone in the entire chain go wrong? Everything has to go up.
What is not possible: trade unions that wage a personal smear campaign via social media against @VincentVQ . Can it please be civilized? https://t.co/F6Jgol1rKW

At 8 pm the chairman will visit Café Jerre in Oudenburg for his program Question Fire. In it he talks to people about the future of democracy.
A few weeks ago, the police unions also took action at Kortrijk City Hall. About 100 police officers were present.
