Police thwart possible attack during election of ‘Miss Belgium’: man arrested with weapons after which show can still start

In the election of Miss Belgium 2023, a possible attack has been thwarted, the federal prosecutor’s office confirms. A man in possession of a firearm was arrested near the Proximus Theater in De Panne. Weapons were also found in his car. After a delay of more than an hour, the show was able to start around 9:30 PM.
