Police still looking for perpetrators of pelting trains near Hoorn

No one has yet been arrested for pelting two moving trains last week between Hoorn and Hoorn Kersenboogerd stations. “Eyewitnesses who have seen something or know who the perpetrators are are asked to come forward,” said a police spokesman.

The pelting of the moving trains happened last Monday during rush hour. Two trains were pelted with stones from a viaduct. A window was broken on one of the trains.

Although there were no injuries, the shock was good. “My wife had glass splinters in her collar. Other travelers were also very shocked and upset,” said a train passenger rather to NH.

According to eyewitnesses, these are two young boys of about 14 years old. “They were wearing black and gray clothing,” said a police spokesman. The police are taking the matter seriously. The investigation is ongoing and witnesses are being asked to come forward.

Pure vandalism

The NS calls the pelting of trains with stones unacceptable and regrets and condemns the incident. “There is no longer any mischief here, this is vandalism. It can have major consequences for the safety of travelers and NS colleagues on the train.”

If the perpetrators are known, the NS will try to recover the costs from them.
