Police share name of suspected stabbing Alkmaar: “Would love to talk to him”

The man’s name is Juleriël M. and he is suspected of attacking a then 30-year-old Alkmaarder in broad daylight with a machete on 19 October 2021. It is ‘pretty unique’ that the police share the name of a suspect, police spokesman Erwin Sintenie tells NH Nieuws.

“Of course we cannot do that just like that, the chief public prosecutor has that power,” said Sintenie. According to him, the name is now being shared because it concerns a ‘fugitive suspect of a serious crime’: “Previous calls have not yet led to the desired result and we would love to talk to him.”

Operated for injuries

Previously shared camera images show how the suspect runs after the victim over the Laat and lashes out with his weapon† The Alkmaarder eventually manages to escape and flees into a coffee shop a little further down the street.

Here he receives first aid from employee Jimmy, who told NH Nieuws at the time that he the muscles under his armpit saw sitting. The victim was subsequently operated on for his injuries in hospital.
