The police have shared images of the drug lab that was rounded up on the Voorland in Enkhuizen in April. Crystal meth was being produced and the building contained highly toxic chemicals. Despite the find, no one has yet been arrested, and the police consider it unlikely that it will happen.
From the outside it looks like a business building like all the others you find on a business park. But the images show that a full-fledged chemical lab had been built behind the doors. Full of raw materials to make drugs, such as the highly toxic mercury chloride.
All intended to produce crystal meth (methamphetamine). A drug that makes you more energetic and makes you feel happy. The downside is that it is extremely addictive and can cause brain damage.
A separate extraction was made to prevent problems with chemicals. Electricity was also tapped illegally, resulting in a fire hazard.

An anonymous tip to the police sparked the case. But at the raid no one was found. All items have been removed and destroyed. The question remains: who is responsible for the lab?
A question that also concerns the police. Owners of the property, Frank and Francis Koomen, said earlier in the NHD to know nothing. “I only rent out the property, and how stupid would I be if I made drugs there myself. I have no secrets at all. The police can search my house anywhere.”
On paper, there are no companies located at the address of the business premises. However, there is a sign of a company on the facade. “That’s to advertise,” says the entrepreneur. “I’m also surprised about what happened. I haven’t heard anything from the police yet. I don’t know anything,” he responds shortly after the raid.

An employee of a company near the drug lab also has no idea who is behind it. “I never noticed anything. We go home at five o’clock, so I have no idea what happens in the evening.”
The police inform NH News that the investigation is in its final phase. People have been heard, forensic investigations have been carried out, but no one has been arrested yet. And it is expected that based on the information that is now available, no arrests will be made.
Building closure
The building still stands as it was left after the raid. With a padlock on the door, there is no activity. A spokesperson for the municipality of Enkhuizen says that the building will be closed for six months, as of June 29.
