On the TV show Discovery Requested on Tuesday evening 24 recognizable photos of suspects of the disturbances after the football match AZ – West Ham United can be seen.
The police say they have various images of the disturbances. A number of suspects have already been identified. No one has been arrested yet. The suspects who are recognizable on Tuesday are not yet known to the police.
Last week, AZ supporters confronted West Ham supporters in the AFAS Stadium. They broke through a fence between the stands. AZ had lost the match.
“If you yourself are involved in these disturbances and you want to prevent your photo from being shown on national television, report to the police as soon as possible,” the police warns. Suspects can report until Tuesday 4 p.m.
Images of the riots were made by, among others, fellow supporters from the stands. For example, a video went around in recent days of two West Ham fans who tried to prevent their section from being stormed by the AZ rioters at the top of the stairs. One of them subsequently gained hero status, especially in Great Britain. ‘Knollsy’, as Chris Knoll (58) is nicknamed, rose at his club’s next game on Sunday a standing ovation.
