Police send West Ham supporters of Alkmaar terraces: “It’s disgusting”

Thousands of football supporters of AZ, but also of opponent West Ham United, are gathering throughout Alkmaar today. To prevent disturbances, the Dutch police, in collaboration with the British police, decided to gather the groups separately from each other in the center. And that is not well received by every Briton, as it turns out this afternoon when the police remove them from various Alkmaar terraces.

AZ will play against the British club West Ham United in the semi-finals in the Conference League tonight. For the first time in 42 years, the Alkmaar club can once again play a European final.

Disappointing

Several West Ham supporters took place this afternoon on a sunny terrace in the center of Alkmaar. The atmosphere was pleasant and peaceful. Yet not much later, all British football fans are invited to the specially deposited for them fan zone to be moved. Much to the dismay of the fans themselves. “It’s disgusting. We’re nice and polite and the staff is eager to serve us.” The catering entrepreneurs themselves are also not happy about it. “It’s such a shame because the atmosphere is very friendly. Just like last night.”

The fact that the measures have not been taken in vain is evident from the grim atmosphere which arose this morning at Alkmaar station. Rioting hooligans threw chairs there and threw stones from gardens. Hooligans from various clubs are said to have been involved in the riots, but the police could not confirm this. It said no one has been arrested.

The kick-off of the AZ – West Ham United match is tonight at 9 p.m. and can be followed live at NH Sport.
