Police remove seven puppies from suspected trader in Veldhoven

Earlier this week, the police seized seven puppies from an address in Veldhoven. This address is under investigation into illegally selling, importing and selling puppies.

The puppies had no passports or vaccination records and the animals had no identification chip. An investigation showed that the dogs probably come from abroad. The public prosecutor will later decide on the future of the puppies.

The animal police is investigating several suspicious addresses in Veldhoven, where there has been an explosive growth of reports of shady puppy traders since January. “We suspect this is the tip of the iceberg.”

In many cases a dog was bought, which later turned out to be wrong. According to the animal police, it is advertised with healthy puppies. All vaccinations and papers are also said to be in order, but that later turns out to be incorrect, according to the reports.

Most of the reported dogs were sold sick, were taken from their mothers too young and do not have a mandatory registration chip.

Three people have filed a complaint and arrests may follow.
