The man who climbed into a construction crane at the main station in Groningen on Monday evening was taken down by police specialists. He’s been arrested.
The station was released after 10 p.m. Train traffic will resume, a NS spokesman said. It is not yet clear why the man had climbed into the crane. He entrenched himself for some time at the height point, on top of the cabin.
When the person was discovered, only the platform was cordoned off at first. Not much later, the entire station was evacuated. In addition to the fire brigade, police officers and ambulance staff were also present.
