The police visited the Boedijnhof twice on 1 January. Once because of Marvin (37) missing, but also for a report of a possible fight. A day later, the Horinees was found dead in a neighbor’s yard. The police confirm that it is a crime. “We will include the possible fight in the investigation,” said a police spokesman.
“We are busy with the investigation,” the spokesperson told NH Nieuws/WEEFF. According to local residents, Marvin was at a neighbor’s party, where he reportedly got into a fight. “Around 6 a.m. I heard a fight. I didn’t think about it anymore,” said a neighbor earlier. He was not found until two days later. According to neighbors lying on a table with possibly a knife in his back.
Possible brawl
It now appears that the police also received a report of a possible fight on New Year’s Day and drove to the Boedijnhof for it. It is unclear whether that is related to Marvin’s death. “We will of course include this information in the investigation. If people have more information about this, they can report to us.”
That same day, the police were once again in the street. This time because Marvin was reported missing. Research turned up nothing at the time.
Who is responsible?
The death of the Horinees a week later still raises many questions. Who killed him? And how is it possible that a local resident at Boedijnhof lay dead in a garden for two days? Those questions remain unanswered for now. The police are tight-lipped about the investigation.
Police say no one has been arrested as a suspect so far. Marvin leaves behind a girlfriend and a 13-year-old daughter. Have acquaintances a support action set up because he would not be insured for a funeral. More than 8,000 euros have now been donated there.
