Police pursuit through Belgium and Brabant because of kidnapping ex-partner | Abroad

According to the Belgian chief commissioner of the border police zone Rudy Verbeeck, the 23-year-old Dutch woman was visiting her parents in Essen. Her also Dutch ex came here and would have forced her into the car. She still managed to call the emergency number.

The pursuit has started and “due to a fantastic collaboration” with the Dutch police, the man’s flight has ended near Eindhoven, the chief commissioner outlines. “The lady escaped without physical damage.” A spokesman for the Dutch police previously reported that it was possible that the man wanted to harm himself and that it was unknown whether his partner was voluntarily sitting next to him in the car. According to the Belgian police, it is therefore his ex.

When the man went wrong-way driving near Eindhoven, two warning shots were fired to force him to stop. According to a police spokesperson, the fact that the man did this was a signal that the man wanted to harm himself or the woman: “Then you will do something that endangers yourself and others. That is why we have taken appropriate action,” said a police spokesman.

At least ten police cars and a police helicopter were eventually used for the pursuit.
