If you don’t want to hear, sometimes you have to feel. The police were called three times on Sunday evening in the district of Oberhavel because of noise pollution. The noise didn’t stop – the 30-year-old rioter is now a case for the prosecutor.
The residents of Klausdamm in Zehdenick initially complained about the persistent noise from a neighbor around 10 p.m. The control center sent a radio patrol crew. She tried to de-escalate, talked to the host.
For a short time there was calm. No sooner had the law enforcement gone than it got loud again. The next emergency call. The police came again. Again conversations. Again a short rest. Then noise again.
Third arrival of the police – around 3 o’clock. This time the 30-year-old was even drunker, even more aggressive, built himself up in front of the officers and wanted to block their way.
One of the officers used a taser – this weapon fires electricity cartridges that bring the attacker to his knees. The man fell to the ground and was then overpowered. His blood alcohol level was measured at 3.2 per mille.
The taser originally developed in America is called “DEIG” in Germany for patent reasons – this stands for distance electric impulse device. The test phase for the device, which is based on a pistol, began in Brandenburg in September 2021.
Gradually, all Brandenburg police officers are trained in handling the weapon. According to statements by Brandenburg’s police spokesman, the goal is to equip all police officers with the Taser in a timely manner. They are also already in use in Berlin.
