Police officers testify in trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard: ‘No signs of domestic violence’ | show

The mega process between Johnny Depp (58) and Amber Heard (36) is already on its tenth day. On Wednesday, several police officers spoke in court. They testify about an argument between the former actor couple that took place in May 2016.

Police officers William Gatlin and Tyler Hadden were questioned by attorneys for both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The two were called up in May 2016 after an argument between the former actor couple. Shortly after the incident, Depp and Heard broke up. According to Hadden, the Aquaman-actress no visible injuries. He could see from her face that she had been crying. During his testimony, the officer made it clear that he did not know that it was an argument between Depp and Heard. “I had no idea who she was,” the court said. There was no damage to the house itself, according to the agent. There was no broken glass anywhere. In addition, there were no wine stains to notice.

No visible injuries

His colleague William Gatlin, who was also on duty in May 2016, tells a similar story. The officer said there were no signs of domestic violence. Heard also did not show him any evidence, such as damage to the home, on the night in question. He also states that he has not seen any injuries. In her own words, “the actress refused to make a statement.” During his testimony, Gatlin made it clear that he did not know who exactly had called the emergency services.

The third witness mentioned was Alejandro Romero. He worked in the apartment complex where Depp and Heard lived together. According to Romero, the actress was always “very friendly” and she “often had a smile on her face”. He describes Depp as ‘a fairly calm person’. On the night of the incident, the actor looked “frustrated,” according to Romero.

Alejandro Romero

Although he only noticed this later on camera images. On the night in question, Romero was not at work. He clearly does not like the fact that he was called as a witness. “I’m tired and I don’t feel like this lawsuit,” he says at one point. “Everyone has their own problems, but I don’t want anything to do with this.” Despite his protest, Romero still has some questions to answer. For example, Depp’s legal team asks if he noticed any injuries to Heard after the incident. He indicates that this was not the case and that he has not seen any swelling.

Depp in the current trial in the US accuses his ex-wife of making false statements in a 2018 op-ed about domestic violence. The Washington Post has been published. Heard stated that she was a victim of domestic violence. She did not mention Depp by name, but the latter believes that the opinion piece damages his image and so he demands 50 million dollars.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Depp says he was told four days after the opinion piece was published by production company Walt Disney Pictures that he would no longer play the role of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean– series.

Why that decision was made has not been disclosed. “But I think it has to do with the allegations that Amber has made,” his former manager Christian Carino said in a pre-recorded video message during the trial on Wednesday. That is a common way of working in the sector, he says, and he could deduce it from conversations with colleagues and high-ranking people at the film studio. “My view is that Amber’s allegations had the most dramatic impact on his reputation.”

Carino, who also admits that producer Jerry Bruckheimer never literally said the allegations were behind Depp’s firing, has represented both Depp and Heard in the past.
