Police officer in the Northern Netherlands fired for drug use

An employee of the Northern Netherlands police has been fired because he used narcotics, among other things. According to the police, this is considered a serious neglect of duty. The employee also consulted police systems for private purposes.

The police in Drenthe, Groningen and Friesland are part of the Northern Netherlands unit. A spokesperson would not say in which province the employee was active.

A disciplinary investigation had already been initiated against the employee involved. The result of that investigation has now led to the dismissal, police said today.
