Police officer attacked at station in Johannisthal

On Wednesday afternoon, a police officer in Berlin-Johannisthal was attacked and injured by a man at the police station.

According to the police, there was a dispute between an officer and a 63-year-old at around 12 p.m. in the police section 35 station in Segelfliegerdamm. The reason for the dispute: the man was dissatisfied with his waiting time.

According to the police, the police officer escorted the man out of the building to calm the situation. There, however, the man is said to have pushed the officer away with both hands and hit him in the face with his fist.

According to the police, the policeman fought back and arrested the 63-year-old with two other colleagues. The man suffered injuries to his face, which is why he was taken to a hospital for outpatient treatment by rescue workers who were called.

The police officer was also injured in the incident, police said. He ended the service prematurely and received medical treatment.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
