The police arrested someone after liquid was sprayed through the fence of the asylum seekers’ center in Ter Apel on Monday.
A spokesperson reports that this happened on the basis of statements. She cannot say anything about the identity and whereabouts of the suspect. The police are still investigating.
Five people became unwell because of the liquid and had to be treated in an ambulance. It concerns two employees of the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA), two security guards and one resident of the asylum seekers’ center.
It is still unknown what kind of liquid it was.
