During the night from Thursday to Friday, agents in the center of Utrecht had their hands full with a urinating in public, cyclists appending and two men who wanted to throw a bicycle into the canal.
A man at the Janskerkhof was caught by the police on Thursday night while urinating in public, but then ran away. Moments later, the man was traced with the help of CCTV. The moment the motorcycle cop appeared in front of him, the peeing in public ‘surrendered’ by sitting on his knees and he was fined.
Not much later, the police managed to arrest two cyclists on Kleinesingel who used their telephones while cycling. They both received a fine of 149 euros.
Shortly afterwards, officers handed out several fines to two gentlemen who threw a bicycle into the canal. With the help of CCTV surveillance, the two were able to be stopped. Police have since fished the bike out of the water.
