Police fire warning shot at arrest

When a 52-year-old Tilburger was arrested, the police fired a warning shot. The suspect was also tasered in the Wilhelminapark in Tilburg. This happened because he refused to cooperate with his arrest. He was injured and taken to hospital.

The man was reported for threat with a firearm. He wouldn’t listen to the police and reached into his pockets several times. The police then decided to draw their guns and warn him again a few times.

When the suspect refused to cooperate, an officer fired a shot. The suspect put his hand to his pocket again, whereupon the other officer tasered him. Then he was arrested.

It is unclear whether the suspect also had a firearm with him. The police declined to comment on that.
