On July 13, 2019, Paislee was reported missing in Cayuga Heights, New York, when she was four years old. Immediately, the child’s mother, Kimberly Cooper, was suspected of the kidnapping. She and her husband Kirk Shultis had no custody of the girl. However, the trail then came to a dead end.
On Monday, February 14, the case was again fired. Police had obtained new information indicating that Paislee would be held at a house on Fawn Road. Her father Kirk Shultis and her grandfather live in the house. The two denied seeing the girl, but after an hour, officers discovered the place where they hid the child: in a makeshift room leading to the basement of the house, under the planks of a closed staircase.
Reunited with sister
The girl was taken to hospital for examination but appears to be in good health. She was later reunited with her older sister.
The child’s mother, father and grandfather are now being charged with interfering with a child’s deprivation of liberty and endangering a child’s welfare.
