The police found a drug lab in the former potato flour factory on the Zuidwending in Veendam on Monday morning around 7.20 am.
Several goods were found that match a production location of hard drugs, says spokesman Thijs Damstra.
“Including a number of barrels, but it is still unknown exactly what these are used for.”

Police received a report early Monday morning of a possible drug lab in the former factory. Agents found the suspicious goods, after which the fire brigade and the National Dismantling Support Facility (LFO) were called in.
Damstra: ,,With such a find, colleagues do not enter the building, that is up to the specialists. The LFO has launched an investigation today and will continue tomorrow. No one has been arrested.”
The LFO has started dismantling the drug lab and the police have conducted a neighborhood investigation and heard witnesses.
