Police detained about 2 thousand people in Alma-Ata – RBK

About 2 thousand participants in the riots were detained by law enforcement agencies during raids in Alma-Ata. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, transfers TV channel “Khabar-24”.

“Employees of the Almaty Police Department moved forward to clean the streets of Karasai-Batyr and Masanchi. Measures are being taken to arrest violators. In total, about 2 thousand people were delivered to the police, ”the ministry said in a statement.

Previously “RIA News” with reference to the city commandant’s office reported that the death toll in the clashes in Alma-Ata law enforcement officers rose to 13, two of them were found beheaded.

According to the police, on the morning of January 6, Almaty, during the storming of administrative buildings in the city and its environs, dozens of participants in the riots were killed.
