Police comb residential area Uitgeest after loud bang, possibly shot

Shots may have been fired on Plevierstraat in Uitgeest this morning around 10.35 am. The police say that a ‘loud bang’ was heard and are investigating. As far as we know, no one was injured.

A police spokesperson said: “A report has been received of a shooting incident in which a bang was heard.” It is unclear whether, and with what type of weapon, shots were fired. The police are currently investigating this.

There are many police cars in the neighborhood and police dogs are used to search the park. A local resident tells NH that he saw an argument between men in a car and a resident from the street. She and other local residents indicate that they did not hear a loud bang.

The police in the area are looking for one or more suspects. Spokesperson: “We ask people who have seen something suspicious to call 112.”
