Police check Exceptional Transport on the west coast

The West Coast Police Zone checked 12 trucks. Five of those trucks fell into the category of ‘Exceptional Transport’. The police team was not stationed at a fixed location, but drove around to actively track down potential offenders.

Five violations were identified:

  • 2 immediate collections of 350 euros for breaches of cargo securing;
  • 1 immediate collection of 300 euros for not extending the width plates in case of exceptional transport that is exceptional because of the width;
  • 1 immediate collection of 350 euros because the backward protection is not compliant;
  • 1 immediate collection of 126.02 euros for not wearing a seat belt.
