The Berlin police caught a robber in Kreuzberg just as he was about to steal something.
The 34-year-old suspect is said to have threatened a young man (26) with a knife on Tuesday night at Moritzplatz and demanded his money, the police said.
As the young man was about to hand over the money, a police patrol became aware of it.
The suspect was arrested. He is now being investigated for attempted extortion. The 26-year-old remained uninjured.
