According to BZ information, the suspected taxi killer from Grunewald was arrested on Saturday afternoon.

A magistrate has already issued an arrest warrant. This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office

According to BZ information, the suspect was not arrested in Berlin, but in Germany. So-called “super-recognizers” convicted the accused. The special officers can recognize people in large crowds – even if they have only seen them once

Means: There was visual material in the criminal case. The homicide squad responsible used two “super-recognizers” to track down the perpetrator. They finally picked up the trail and identified the perpetrator.

The investigators are now certain that the driver and perpetrators did not know each other, as BZ learned. Instead, it is currently assumed that there was a dispute between the taxi driver and a passenger. The perpetrator is said to have boarded at Südkreuz station.

The reason for this should have been the amount to be paid for the trip!

A passer-by discovered the seriously injured taxi driver around 8.40 a.m. on Thursday morning and alerted the police and fire brigade. First, the victim was taken to a hospital, where doctors performed an emergency operation. But all the efforts of the doctors were unsuccessful, the taxi driver died. He is said to have left a wife and two children.

The deadly attack happened on the street, right in front of the luxurious Schlosshotel by Patrick Hellmann. The area around the crime scene was cordoned off. Homicide detectives and criminalists secured clues. The car of the dead man was also thoroughly examined. In the afternoon, investigators searched the area with sniffer dogs.

The victim’s car was taken to Homicide by a tow truck for further evidence collection.
