Police arrest man (42) for series of burglaries in Asser Vredeveld district

With the arrest of a 42-year-old man from the Frisian municipality of Waadhoeke, the police have probably solved a series of home burglaries in the Asser Vredeveld district. In August, the number of burglaries in the neighborhood increased so much that the police launched an investigation. That led to the suspect.

The man is suspected of involvement in at least eleven (attempted) burglaries at homes in the Drenthe capital, the police reported on social media. “The information from local residents was essential,” writes the police, who tracked down the suspect by studying camera images and other investigation results.

The 42-year-old man is also suspected of a burglary at a catering establishment in Zuidhorn.
