Police arrested a 47-year-old man last night for driving around drinking beer in his car. That happened on the Scharmbarg in Assen.
After the man from the municipality of Hof van Twente was set aside, he started insulting the officers. After a check it turned out that the man had not been allowed to drive at all; his driver’s license had been revoked for a long time.
The intoxicated man has been fined in the past for driving under the influence and driving while his driver’s license had already been taken. The man was arrested and taken to the police station.
Three times the allowable amount
There it turned out that he had 660 µl alcohol in his blood, which equates to a blood alcohol level of 1.5. That is three times the allowable amount for an experienced driver.
