The police are looking for witnesses to a fatal accident on the Alkmaarseweg in Middenmeer. A 60-year-old man from Wieringerwerf was found here around 10:05 am on Sunday.
The victim was lying on the ground with his racing bike at the intersection Alkmaarseweg / Groetweg, parallel to the N242 and could not be approached. Despite the help of paramedics and bystanders, the man died.
It is not yet clear whether it was an accident or a natural cause of death. “We don’t know exactly how he fell and why. We would like to know,” a police spokesman told NH . Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
