Police adjust search for missing boy Terschelling

The police no longer have coordinated searches for the 12-year-old boy who has been missing since a collision between a water taxi and ferry near Terschelling in October.

A spokesman for the National Unit says that there is still a search, but that no searches are started that are only aimed at the missing boy.

“We really want to return the missing boy to his family, that is very important to us,” said the spokesman. “That’s why we didn’t stop the search. The quest looks different now. We hope to find the boy.”

The search has been organized differently since two weeks ago. Now flights over the area and boat trips that are undertaken for a different reason are also looking for the boy. “And we have also asked professional vessels to keep a lookout.”
