The police accidentally raided the wrong house in Schijndel on Saturday evening. A family with three small children was present in this house at the time of the raid.
The police were looking for a man and were considering an arrest that might entail risks. That is why a so-called police arrest unit took over the raid.
Around half past eight in the evening, the team forced the door of the house, but it soon became clear that the police had made a mistake. The family in this house has “no relationship whatsoever with the wanted man,” the police said.
“Of course we apologized.”
The family was very shocked. The police say they deeply regret what happened. “Of course we have apologized.” The police are in close contact with the family about further proceedings. It is being investigated how the wrong house could have been raided.
The police cannot and do not want to share any more information about the investigation and the wanted man at this time. “He has not been arrested yet.”
