Pole vaulter is seriously injured while landing

For a pole vaulter, the World Cup in Glasgow was over after a failed attempt: she apparently broke her foot.

A serious injury to French pole vaulter Margot Chevrier caused a shock at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Glasgow.

The 24-year-old apparently suffered an open ankle fracture in Scotland. During her failed attempt, Chevrier allowed herself to sink over 4.65 meters to the mat and sprained her foot. The French woman screamed in horror and pain. She had to be treated for longer and then transported away. The French delegation watched the terrible images of their athlete with concern.

With a jump of 4.55 meters, Chevrier would ultimately finish in eighth place. The title went to Brit Molly Caudery with 4.80 meters. Germany is currently in 13th place in the medal table with one silver medal.
