This farewell had been indicated in the last few weeks: master polar bear Nicholas B. Jensen (33) is leaving Berlin.

The club agreed with the Dane to terminate the contract early, as the polar bears announced on Thursday.

Jensen only moved from Düsseldorf to Berlin last summer and still had a contract until 2023.

“It was great to play for the Eisbären and to be able to experience the unique Berlin fans,” said Jensen in his farewell statement via press release. “The great year was crowned by winning the championship.”
