Polar bear captain Hördler wants to continue and play with his son Eric (17).

Eisbären captain Frank Hördler (37) probably wants to continue his career and still has one big goal: to be on the ice in a game with his son Eric (17) for the Berliners.

“It’s a huge motivation for me to work really hard on myself to make it happen. It’s a reason to do more again,” said the native of Saxony to the “Tagesspiegel”.

“It’s something special for a father and I think for a son too. I also had the experience with my father.” That’s why he can well imagine playing for the reigning German champions next season: “It’s not quite sure yet, but I think so.”

He is in good dialogue with those responsible. “But I’m also at an age where you have to see how it feels in the playoffs. I want to be good too,” said the 37-year-old.

Frank Hördler goes into his 16th playoff in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) with the Eisbären. He has already won the championship eight times with the team. His son Eric plays for the junior team of the polar bears.
