The Polish military began joint exercises with military personnel from the United States in the southeast of Poland, where the border of the republic with Ukraine passes, declared Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak on his Twitter account.
“Over the weekend, the military of the 18th Mechanized Division began joint exercises with American soldiers in southeastern Poland. We are consistently strengthening security on NATO’s eastern flank,” Blaszczak wrote.
As part of agreements with NATO and bilateral agreements with the United States, about 5,000 American soldiers are now stationed in Poland. Another 4.7 thousand military arrived in the country as additional forces “due to the threat to security in our region”, reported on Friday, the Ministry of Defense of Poland.
