Fendi is presenting a collection and pop-up in collaboration with Japanese media franchise Pokémon and Japanese musician Hiroshi Fujiwara’s brand, the Italian luxury fashion house announced last week. The project is part of the brand’s new collaboration series, ‘Friends of Fendi’.
To usher in the Chinese and Japanese New Year, which begins in February, dragons are the main protagonists of the collaboration between the three brands. Elements such as the Fendis brand emblem, fragment and Pokémon logos as well as Dragonite, Dratini and Dragonair adorn all parts of the collection presented there. The bright nuances of these comic characters are intended to celebrate the year of the mythical creature, its playful side and liveliness.
The capsule, consisting of bags, jewelry, T-shirts and sweaters, is presented in an eye-catching temporary sales area: on the grounds of the mixed-use complex Taikoo Li Chengdu in Sichuan, China, oversized statues of dragon Pokémon can be seen from afar. The rich yellow tone continues through the interior design, and the store’s walls and shelves are also decorated in the characteristic color palette.
The pop-up is open until January 26th, and the collection is available in the Fendi online shop and selected stores worldwide.
