The new music competition needs a strong host who supports the world-class show with professionalism, states Iltalehti editor Sonja Saarinen. The competition for new music has grown at a tremendous pace in recent years. This year, the competition will also experience a change in the venue, as the final will be held in Tampere’s large Nokia Arena instead of Logomo in Turku. The UMK finalists of 2024 were announced on Wednesday, January 10, in a live TV broadcast hosted by singer Benjamin Peltonen, actor Pilvi Hämäläinen and presenter Viivi Pumpanen.
