The big comebacks in football are accompanied by equally big doubts. That of Paul Pogba at Juve does not escape this logic even if the substantially negative return offered by the French to United highlights a reason for comfort for the Juventus fans. Usually a return occurs when the player’s parable is descending and therefore the unknown is linked to the reasons behind the choice (usually, the hope that finding the comfort zone will increase performance) and to the well-founded suspicions that the best is already been given. Pogba’s parable, however, is particular: since he left Juve to play for Manchester United, in fact, the Frenchman’s performance would be well drawn from a straight line.
