Pogba, threatened and forced to pay the (family) clan: the complaint

In March, threats in a Paris apartment, the group with his brother and former childhood friends asked for 13 million euros for having “ensured his safety” for years. Measures from the Paris prosecutor are expected

Blackmail, gun threats and extortion. And 100 thousand euros already paid to the group of extortionists. New details emerge of the story involving Paul Pogba. According to Rmc, in a version also confirmed by Franceinfo, the Juve midfielder has already paid 100,000 euros, an advance of the 13 million euros request made by the group of childhood friends and the older brother Mathias. As Pogba revealed to investigators, the group would demand the amount as payment “to those who have protected him for years”, and “ensured his safety”.

Only the intervention of the bankers, who refused the withdrawal requested by the Juventus midfielder, prevented 3 million euros from being immediately paid. After the threats suffered in a Paris apartment during the last retreat with the national team, in the presence of two armed men, Pogba managed to raise 100,000 euros, as compensation, and signed a document assuring that he would pay the sum, but this would not have been enough to stop the group’s actions. So Pogba filed a complaint in Italy.

The investigations

The Italian authorities informed the Paris prosecutor’s office on August 1st and on the 3rd an investigation was opened in Paris for “attempts to extort an organized gang”. Now the Central Office for the fight against organized crime is at work and the first decisions are awaited.
