Tadej Pogacar has won the Tour of Lombardy for the second time in a row. The 24-year-old Slovenian cyclist stayed ahead of his Spanish fellow escapee Enric Mas in the sprint. Pogacar, who won no fewer than sixteen victories this season, is the first cyclist to win the Tour of Lombardy twice in a row.
The Spaniards Alejandro Valverde and Mikel Nieve and the Italian Vincenzo Nibali cycled their last race as pro on Saturday. Valverde finished sixth. Nieve crashed hard in the descent of one of the climbs about 150 kilometers from the finish and had to retire.
