For Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar, it was not enough to place on the podium in his first individual time trial of the season.
The Slovenian professional cyclist had to settle for fourth place on the third stage of the UAE Tour over nine kilometers, starting and finishing in Ajman.
Pogacar was 18 seconds slower than Swiss winner Stefan Bissegger in the United Arab Emirates. Places two and three went to time trial world champion Filippo Ganna (Italy/0:07 minutes back) and ex-Giro winner Tom Dumoulin (Netherlands/0:14). Bissegger also took the lead in the overall standings.
