Pobeda Airlines (part of the Aeroflot Group) will transfer all flights from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport to Vnukovo from April 8, the company said in a statement received by RBC. The airline began operating part of the flights from Sheremetyevo in May 2021.

Passengers who have booked tickets for Pobeda flights from Sheremetyevo to Barnaul, Nalchik, Vladikavkaz, Cheboksary, Petrozavodsk and vice versa will be sent an offer to the email address specified during booking to choose from: either use the Pobeda flight from Vnukovo, or issue a full refund. “Passengers with Aeroflot tickets for Pobeda flights to other destinations from Sheremetyevo will be transferred to Aeroflot’s own flights, of which the airline will notify passengers upon completion of the reissuance,” the company said.

Former head of Pobeda allowed ticket prices to more than double

The decision to “optimize the production program” and transfer all operational activities to one base airport will allow Pobeda “to operate the existing fleet of aircraft as efficiently as possible and continue to carry out the flight program in the required volume,” the company said. Andrey Yurikov, interim general director of Pobeda, also said that the company is doing “everything possible” to avoid layoffs in the team.

The volume of flights that the parent company of the low-cost airline Aeroflot operates from Sheremetyevo will not decrease, as the company expands its own flight program.
