SI conclude this evening on Rai 1 the series on tragic story of the Claps family. Finally after 17 years Elisa’s body is found in the attic of the SS Trinità church in Potenza e Danilo Restivo, who in the meantime killed his neighbor in Bournemouth, is arrested.
But there are many controversial aspects of this incredible story. Don Mimì was the only one who had the keys to the door that led to the attic of the church. He knew? And how many knew? Various building interventions have also been carried out over the years in the very place where Elisa’s body was found. Why didn’t anyone speak? The drama ends with Danilo Restivo’s life sentence, above all thanks to the stubbornness of Elisa’s brother, but it leaves deep irreparable wounds.
For Elisa – the Claps case: plot of the last episode
Nine years have passed since Elisa’s disappearancethe father can no longer tolerate the indifference of the people around him, Gildo (Gianmarco Saurino) married Irene (Rosa Diletta Rossi) and they founded together with Don Marcello the Penelope Association which deals with supporting missing people. Gildo and Irene also fight to have the law changed in Parliament which would allow a disappearance to be reported before 48 hours.
Danilo Restivo (Giulio Della Monica) lives in Bournemouth with his partner Fiamma. Her neighbor, Heather Barnett, One day she is found dead by her two children in the bathroom at home: the crime scene is horrifying. The woman is in a pool of blood, there are no signs of forced entry or a struggle. The killer cut her throatundressed her, cut off her underwear with scissors, cut off her breasts and put on in the hands of hair strandsin one there are his and in the other those of a different person.
Are they Elisa’s? DNA tests are negative.
The English police and Inspector Phip James are investigating Danilo Restivo (Vincent Riotta). For Gildo it is yet more proof that he is implicated in the disappearance, or death, of his sister. But there is no concrete evidence to prove this.

Elisa Claps has been missing for 12 years and public opinion has now forgotten about her. In an English park the police follow Restivo who is found following a girl with latex gloves on and scissors hidden in a backpack. What was she doing? He is arrested, but Inspector James cannot hold him for long, there is a lack of evidence. Meanwhile Gildo and Irene have a daughter, Federica.
One day the phone rings at Claps’ house. Water infiltrations in the attic of the SS Trinità required the intervention of some workers. They found a body. Yet even years before, maintenance work had been carried out, and no one ever said anything about the body.
The police show the family some objects to find you: a pair of glasses, a sweater and a shoe. They are Elisa’s. Finally the parents will have a body to bury and cry over. But it’s not over for the Claps: «This story will only be closed when the killer is arrested»Gildo says to those dealing with the case.

Restivo’s life sentence, but still many doubts
For the Claps is a drama that never seems to end, not even after Elisa was found. How is it possible that in 17 years no one has ever noticed that body? Holes were made in the roof to ventilate the room and prevent the smell of decay from spreading.
Elisa was inflicted 13 blows with a cutting blade, presumably from scissors. Gildo can’t look at his sister’s body, this time it will be his brother Luciano (James George) to take a big step for Elisa.

From autopsy tests no genetic material was found on Elisa’s remains. Restivo cannot be arrested. Gildo once again does not give up and thanks to his brother he learns that whoever reported the sister’s remains is under investigation for negligence. Counter-analysis will indicate that there is Restivo’s DNA on the victim’s sweater.
In England Danilo is arrested and tried for the murder of Heatherthanks to a new scientific technique that detected the woman’s blood on the killer’s shoes. Only a few years later Danilo was also tried for the Claps crime and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Elisa Claps’ funeral: the most moving moment of the fiction
The most touching moment of the episode, and of the entire fiction, is Elisa’s funeral. All Power participatebut not the father (Vincenzo Ferrera): «These people don’t deserve it: Where has she been for 17 years?», he tells his family. These are the same people who «remained silent for years so as not to discredit the community – Gildo will say at the funeral – many who are here to applaud are the same ones who turned their backs on us. No one will give Elisa back to us, but we are here to celebrate my sister, a girl full of life and dreams to whom we have given some justice».
