Summer in your eyes 2the review of the series

Summer in your eyes 2 continues the path traced in the first season and probes deeply into the soul of each character. Everyone faces the new everyday life and experiences a profound solitude. They have always counted on each other, but now the harmony of the past seems to have vanished. Over time, they will learn to draw closer and to forgive each otherand to put aside the disappointment and pain.

Unlike the first chapter, the plot focuses on the emotionality of the protagonists. The most adolescent and romantic aspect, the expectation and hope of the conquest give way to the negative implications of the choices made. Above all, to the unexpected events that life sometimes reserves. Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah and Steven have grown up, but still not enough to be fully aware.

Over the course of the episodes they are faced with unexpected events, choices, steps back and steps forward. Until the grand finale, which leaves you breathless. Who will Belly choose, Conrad or Jeremiah? The boy she’s always had a crush on and reminiscent of Leonardo DiCaprio or the trusted friend, just as cute but less unpredictable? The answer comes in the eighth episode, but the whole series is full of interesting flashbacks explaining what has happened in the last few months.

Is the third season coming?

Showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka sign a well-packaged series. Despite being a teen product, it doesn’t focus on the teenage love triangle, but photograph a slice of reality. And dig deep. There are the family, the parent-child relationship, the dynamics between adults. Last but not least, all undergo a profound metamorphosis.

And Belly’s final choice is just one piece which adds a touch of romance to an interesting title in itself. Waiting for third season – although not yet announced –taken from the last volume of the trilogy, entitled It will always be summer for us.
