Playoffs | Ingolstadt earns its first match point against DEG

In the playoff quarterfinals of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), ERC Ingolstadt scored its first match point to advance to the semi-finals.

Bayern turned a 0-1 deficit at Düsseldorf EG in the final third to make it 2-1 (0-0, 0-1, 2-0) and went 3-1 in the best-of-seven series in the lead. In the fifth duel on Friday (7:30 p.m.) Ingolstadt can make the leap into the semi-finals on their own ice with another win.

After a number goal by Daniel Fischbuch (38th) in the final phase of the middle third, Düsseldorf seemed to be well on the way to a 2-2 equalizer in the series. But at the beginning of the final phase in the last section, a double strike within 36 seconds by Maurice Edwards and Justin Feser (both 54th) turned the game around in favor of the guests.

On Wednesday, the fourth round in the round of the top eight will be completed with the last two matches.

The Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven want to get their first chance to participate in the semi-finals against the main round winner Red Bull Munich (7:00 p.m.) with a 2-1 lead behind them, as does the Grizzlys Wolfsburg against the Straubing Tigers (7:30 p.m.).
