A VV Musselkanaal player has been suspended for two years because he openly used hard drugs on the team bus after the away match against Annen. Images of this are circulating on social media.
The club has suspended the player for two years. Trainer Wessel Woortman and leader Hendrik Berends immediately resigned from their duties due to the incident. The club therefore has to look for a new trainer very quickly.
The board of vv Musselkanaal has released a statement. “Drug use is an increasing social problem. As an association we have been confronted with this in a painful way. We felt it was important to respond quickly and adequately to this situation,” the club wrote.
