The Chiro van Brielen and KLJ van Everdinge came together this afternoon to plant a play forest in Brielen, a sub-municipality of Ypres. About 2,800 trees were planted, and they also built play hills, wadis and a play arena.
The play forest is cordoned off so that it can grow in the coming years. The arena and the adjacent grass square can be used immediately.
The play forest and the parking lot are a realization of the city of Ypres in collaboration with the Agency for Nature and Forests, the Regional Landscape Westhoek and Kronospan. It was partly financed with resources from Flanders and the province of West Flanders.
