Platform for the Language has received 333 complaints by “linguistic discriminations“in the ‘La universitat en català’ campaign during its first year, the entity reported this Thursday in a statement.

The campaign, promoted by the Platform for the Language, the Sindicat d’Estudiants dels Països Catalans, the National Federation of Students of Catalonia and the Bloc d’Estudiants Agermanats, started in October last year with the launch of a website for ” facilitate complaints” and the complaints are distributed between Catalonia (296), the Valencian Community (23) and the Balearic Islands (15).
During this first academic year, the campaign has registered 174 complaints about changes in the language of a subject compared to the language announced in the teaching plan (52.3% of the total), 81 due to the lack of offer of subjects in Catalan (24.3 %) and 78 complaints for violation of linguistic rights.
